Purpose of this Award

This annual fellowship has been established in honour of Dr. Truda Rosenberg, BScN'62, MA Psy'66, PhD Psy'71. Her personal life and professional enterprises have at all times been guided by a passionate sense of justice and equity and the promotion of cross-cultural understanding. This fellowship is intended to support any genuine research effort into minority group discrimination and the promotion of harmonious multicultural relationships with priority given to antisemitism issues.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student
  2. be registered full-time in a PhD program at the University of Ottawa
  3. have a thesis proposal that has been approved in compliance with program regulations
and whose central thesis research topic deals with minority group discrimination and the promotion of harmonious multicultural relationships with priority given to anti-Semitism issues
Note: this fellowship is awarded without distinction of age, religion, sex, linguistic or cultural background

How to Apply

Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:

  1. a letter from the applicant describing the relevance of their thesis research with respect to the objectives of the fellowship and their prior experiences living in other cultures
  2. a copy of the applicant's thesis proposal as submitted for program approval
  3. a summary of the applicant's thesis proposal in the University's other official language
  4. the Curriculum Vitae on Online Scholarships and Bursaries
  5. two letters of reference (one from the thesis supervisor, one from another person familiar with the applicant's cross-cultural experiences and commitments)
