Purpose of this Award

To recognize the exceptional work of an MBA student or a group of MBA students promoting the theme of social responsibility, sustainable development and business practices, social innovation, or ethics and governance in an assignment or project completed as part of a course in the MBA program or of an extracurricular activity during their time as an MBA student.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with protected or refugee status, or an international student
  2. be enrolled as a full-time student in the MBA program at the Telfer School of Management
  3. be enrolled in the MBA program at the time when their project is presented
  4. completed a project individually or as a team (max 6) related to social responsibility, sustainable development and business practices, social innovation, or ethics and governance as part of a course or of an extracurricular activity during their MBA
In the case of a team, only one application should be submitted. However, all members of the team must meet the above eligibility criteria. Should a team be selected as recipient of the award, the $1,000 will be divided equally among the team members.

How to Apply

Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:

  1. A copy of the assignment or proof of outcome(s) achieved (e.g., website of new company formed, charity started, etc.)
  2. Executive summary of the project or activity (1 to 5 pages maximum), which should indicate the course or the extracurricular activity it was completed in. In the case of a team, the name and student number of each member should be clearly indicated

The Telfer School of Management Alumni Association’s mission is to enhance the value of the Telfer MBA program by strengthening the bond between alumni, the Telfer School of Management and students.
